HOSPITALISATION FACILITIES
Our kennel areas provide a secure and comfortable area for our patients. Our nurses ensure all patients are kept comfortable and clean and our live-in nurse at Burghfield means 24-hour patient care is possible. Cats at Burghfield are housed in a separate kennel area to reduce their anxiety. For our larger patients we have some "walk in" kennels to ensure they have enough room to stretch out.
SURGERY
Goring and Burghfield surgeries are equipped with separate operating theatres to ensure surgery is carried out in a clean environment. All operations are carried out by our team of vets that are competent in many areas of surgery.
Tim Davies holds the Royal College Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. Only a handful of vets pass this further qualification and means that the practice has extra surgical expertise, should the need arise.
Animals are monitored under anaesthetic by a Veterinary Nurse and the practices are equipped with a number of monitoring devices to ensure the anaesthetic is as safe as possible.
LABORATORY FACILITES
Both surgeries have on-site laboratories. The blood machines can quickly detect problems with internal
organs (such as liver, kidneys, pancreas and glucose metabolism) in addition to blood cell counts and electrolyte measurements. This is vital to ensure your pet receives the correct treatment, speedily.

IMAGING
Imaging can also be vital for provinding an accurate, speedy diagnosis. Both surgeries
contain an xray machine and processor, which is digital at Burghfield. In addition, Burghfield has an ultrasound scanner that can quickly and easily provide images of internal organs such as the heart, liver, spleen and bladder. It is very effective at pregnancy diagnosis. We also have a range of endoscopes available to use. These are tiny cameras that can be put into bowel, stomach and sometimes the bladder.
Our nurses provide a range of free advice on topics such aspet care
behaviour advice
nutrition
weight loss programmes
parasite control

OTHER FACILITES
The equipment list goes on and on and could even get boring! Also worth a mention is the extensive range of equipment available for examining eyes. We have slit lamps, tonopens, indirect ophthalmoscopes, in addition to fine instruments and magnification for ophthalmic surgery. Fiona has a particular interest in eyes and is hoping to sit her certificate exams in the near future. If you have a particular concern or would like further information on any of our facilites, please call for a chat.
